THE SOCIAL INSURANCE MOVEMENT--The 1912 Presidential Election gggff

Following the national convention of the Progressive Party in Chicago during the first week of August 1912, the delegates returned to their home states to quickly prepare for the election and to create state-level Progressive Parties as adjuncts to the national Party. These state delegates often in turn held a state convention of the Party, and, as in the case of New York state, adopted their own state version of the Party platform. Reproduced here is the New York State Progressive Party platform, adopted during the state convention, which took place in Syracuse, N. Y., on Sept. 5, 1912. This seven-page document tracks the national platform, but contains some slight differences in emphasis and wording.
