Current Projects:
Nearing completion of a book manuscript on the philosophy of history, entitled: "Truth and Objectivity in History: in
Defense of Declining Virtues." This manuscript attempts to recover for working historians a serviceable philosophy
of history that restores the concepts of truth and objectivity in historical narrative. It is an explicit challenge to various
forms of the postmodern critique of history.

Created the history website for the U.S. Social Security Administration (http://www.socialsecurity.gov/history), which for
many years has been the third-largest history site established in the federal government. 1996 - date
Created a scholarly reference website on social insurance programs in the Gilded Age/Progressive Era that can be
seen as precedents for similar programs in the era of the New Deal. This site contains a massive collection of documents,
images, video and audio from the period documenting this theme. This website (SSinGAPE) is available via the web
portal www.larrydewitt.net, which also contains other of my works.

Program of the National Academy of Social Insurance. 2002 - present
Instructor for the history of Social Security segment of the Introductory Training Course for new employees of the
U.S. Social Security Administration. I teach 9-10 sections each year, totaling about 500 students. 2000 - present
Lecturer on history of Social Security to ad-hoc meetings of national and international groups, 1995- present.
