The Downey Philosopher's Forum originates out of LaSalle University under the tutelage of philosopher professor Gerard P. Downey.

The Forum is a site where Professor Downey, his students, colleagues and friends, engage in online discussions of philosophical issues.

"The Enlightenment Papers" are a debate from the Forum, on the nature of enlightenment, as conceived by Eastern religious traditions. This exchange of essays took place over the course of a two-year period, from 1997-1999.
