Figure 4- Although many Japanese families were interned as whole families, some initially were not. These two women and their children were left behind in San Francisco when their husbands were rounded-up and interned by the FBI as enemy aliens. It was families such as these who were potentially eligible for aid from the ASEAO program in the initial phases before resettlement. These two women and their children were later interned.
